Weekend's a comin'

First of all, I forgot to mention that the Vikings schedule came out Wednesday. We only have one night game and that's against the . . . gulp . . . Packers! All the other games are at noon. Sorry, but I love watching night games. Oh, well.

My horoscope today said that I'm feeling like my old self again. Interesting, 'cause I was crabby all day -- not for any particular reason, just crabby. So, the kids and I went to Ciatti's. I had crab claws -- Morgan had to point out how fitting it was for me since I was "crabby!" We drew pictures of our best friends on the paper tablecloth!

The kids want to rearrange their rooms this weekend. Yeah, that'll just take a few minutes, right mom? I told them, fine, but we were CLEANING at the same time and THROWING OUT OLD THINGS also. Nathan wants to put his desk in the middle of his room so this will be real interesting.

Saturday Nathan's Boy Scout Troop is cleaning up Cliff-Phen park. It's Burnsville's neighborhood clean-up day and this is a project we've done now for the last two years.

Then I work Sunday p.m. at Bumper's and back at it again Monday a.m.

Happy 40th Karen!

My friend, Karen, that I've known since first grade turned the Big 4-0 last Thursday, 4/7! We went to lunch today at Jensen's Cafe to celebrate and then I worked at Ebenezer.

Oh, yeah . . . and Karen's due with her first child October 30th! CONGRATS!!!!

I have a rant . . .

I was reading an article in the Star Tribune the other day and it was discussing how people misuse words and phrases and one came to mind for me. Realtor -- why does EVERYONE I know say "realator." There is no "a" between the "l" and the "t," but yet everyone says "realator." I have never met anyone -- no one -- zippo -- that says it correctly (except for me, of course!) and I'm not kidding. I cringe every time I hear someone say it wrong. It's kind of like "sandwich." Most people I know say "samwich." Excuse me? How do you get an "m" out of "nd?" I just don't get it.

Light Bulb!

Remember the pictures of me with Michael Bennett and "the other Viking?" I finally figured out who "the other Viking" is. I thought it was Adam Haayer, but it isn't -- it's #10 -- kicker, Travis Dorsch. That boy is huge -- 6'6" and 227 pounds! You'll have to check out the twiceblessed site to see the pictures. They were posted on "2/20/05 Snowy Sunday." I tried to copy them into this post, but my computer skills are lacking.

P.S. I Love You

I worked Saturday and Sunday at Ebenezer and Monday at Bumpers. Had Tuesday off and ran a ton of errands. Off again today and got my hair done, played Bingo with my friend Kris (she won twice -- glad we split winnings!), cleaned my kitchen and bathrooms, watched Napolean Dynomite with the kids (odd movie, that was!) and tonight John and I went to see Sahara with Matthew McConaughey and Penélope Cruz -- based on the book by Clive Cussler. We called it an early night as he had been up since 3 a.m. and flew back from New York today. I stopped for Chinese on the way home and then finished my latest book. It's an awesome book, by the way! I hear they're making it into a movie. It's about a young widow that finds out her husband left her 10 messages each to be openend one at a time and each a month apart. Will have to bring a full box of tissues to this one!

Twins' Home Opener

Lisa & I after Home Opener -- 4/8/05

My friend Lisa & I went to the Twins' Home Opener. We had great seats -- 8 rows up from the Chicago White Sox's bullpen. We went down to the dome on the light rail and walked around a bit before the game started. There were fireworks afterwards that we watched while we waited to board the light rail for our trek home. I forgot my camera, so all I have is this picture of us at Bumper's after the game.

It's a bird . . . it's a plane . . .

Crazy Gonzo

Nathan had a "sticky" spiderman and we threw it up on the wall. Gonzo went absolutely bonkers trying to get that thing down!

Two Wild & Crazy Girls!

Anna & I

My friend Anna & I hung out yesterday. Anna's getting married Saturday and I missed her bachelorette party, so we decided to have a cocktail and be wild and crazy girls for a few hours. We each got a tattoo!!! Mine is a butterfly on my ankle and hers is a dragonfly. I love it!

Bullseye!

When we were in Faribault Sunday, Grandpa Karp helped Nathan with his bow & arrow. I tried not to get too close, so this picture is kind of far away. He had a great time!

Bullseye!!!

You can kind of see the arrow in the middle of the "tank" on the box -- that was the bullseye!

Crazy Day!!!

Today was a crazy day! We got up and took Kiona back home, went to Faribault to celebrate Easter and Morgan's birthday with my family, came back up to the Cities and took Morgan to the Children's Theatre Company for her friend Emily's birthday party, Nathan went to Steve's and then I had to work at Bumper's. Whew! I'm tired. I can't wait until Wednesday -- my only day off in the next nine days.
Here are some pictures of our day on the farm in Faribault. Nathan raves about how well Grandma and Grandpa Karp hide the eggs! He'll never forget about the year he found an egg from the YEAR BEFORE!!! In fact, we found one again today -- looks like it had been run over by the lawnmower a couple times!

Birthday Party Success!

Emma, Shawna, Emily, Nathan, Sadie, Kiona & Morgan

Make a wish, Morgan . . .

Well, the birthday party was a success. Despite everybody in Burnsville being at Skateville, we all had a great time! I have never seen so many people at that place in one time in my life. But, I even laced up my in-lines and got out on the rink myself! It was a blast -- the most fun I've had at one of my kids' birthday parties yet. I received a bunch of compliments on the cake and had one gal ask me how I did it so she could make one for her daughter's upcoming party.

Morgan's friend Kiona is spending the night here. They played with Morgan's new toys, I made stir-fry for dinner and now they're watching the Sponge Bob movie. Great fun!

Don't forget to set your clocks ahead. It's already 10:42 as far as I'm concerned, so I'm going to bed. Tomorrow is a BUSY day!

Here's a sneak preview of my current knitting project. It's going to be COOL!
